The Most
Important Ingredient: The Students!
Camille,
age 15, is 10th grader at Lake Region High School.
She
loves the piano because it challenges her and is a good stress reliever.
Her advice to new
players
is to practice as much as you can and if you feel frustration you are making
progress!
Her
favorite composer is Yiruma. She is currently working on a piece
of his called "May Be."
Her
favorite subject at school is World History. She loves to swim and
go running or hang out with
friends
in her spare time. She is considering a career in forensics.
I have loved getting to know
you,
Camille. You have a lot of natural talent. Keep practicing!
Alex, age 9, is a 4th grade homeschooler. He loves the way
the
piano sounds and feels. His advice to anyone just starting out with
the piano is to practice
each
piece at least 10 times every day. He loves music that is fast and
loud! His favorite
subject
is math and when he has free time, he like to make models. He has
a train set
and
is enjoying landscaping it. He is considering several career choices---firefighter,
police
officer or a mailman. Keep practicing, Alex. You are making
progress!
Megan, age 16, is a junior at Fryeburg Academy. She loves the piano
because
it feels good to be challenged and to work hard. She also loves composing
and listening to music.
Her
advice to a new player is to be disciplined when you practice. Do
the most difficult things first.
Be
consistent. She loves to listen to New Age piano, particularly, George
Winston. She has seen him
in
concert and will again this next March. Her favorite subject is science.
In her spare time, she likes
to
knit, ice skate, and do arts and crafts. She is hoping to have a
career teaching music. You are a wonderful
student,
Megan. I am very proud of you and the hard work you put into the
music you so obviously love!
