Kim's Piano Studio
Upon graduation, in 1997, I taught in the public school system as a long-term substitute teacher.
I did enjoy this experience, but discovered that I really did prefer to teach in a private
studio, as I had originally planned to do.
I began my studio in earnest and soon had between 30 and 40 piano students. On average, I have 35-40 students per week coming to lessons. I teach a variety of levels and ages. I have had students ranging in age from 3 years old to retirement age--from beginners to advanced players!
I have been teaching for 26 years.
Though classical music is a strong passion, I have also been a church musician for 18 years. In addition, I am currently the keyboard player for the band “Unknown Hour” and a studio musician for Baked Beans Recording Studio. I am also the pianist for the Lakes Region Home School Choral Class. I enjoy composing my own arrangements and compositions and have self-published several books of original music. I have recorded 4 full length CD’s of music.
I am a member of the Maine Music Teachers' Association and have attended as well as helped
with the many events they sponsor.
